Theology
God

We believe there is one God existing coeternally and coequally in three distinct persons: the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. According to the scriptures, He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on a cross as the substitutionary atonement for man's sin, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to heaven and one day will physically return to earth in power and glory for believers in Christ.

Holy Spirit

We believe in the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit who offers regeneration to unbelievers, indwells believers, and enables believers to live godly lives.

Church

We believe that God established a gathering of disciples, of any who believed, to be "the called out ones." This concept is, in English, called "the church." The church is God's plan for communicating about Himself, about Jesus, and about salvation. The church, the called out ones, is centered on the concept of community.

Salvation

We believe that man was created in the image of God, but because of sin, was alienated from God. Only by the grace of God, through faith in Jesus Christ alone can a person be restored to a right relationship with God and be assured of eternity in heaven with God.

Our Core Values

  • God's glory is paramount
  • Worship of the Eternal One is critical to our own health, our relationships, and our spiritual lives
  • Jesus Christ is God's only Son
  • Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one comes to God except through a relationship with Jesus
  • The Bible represents God's communication to people, for all times, and is authoritative for our lives today
  • We were created for a relationship with God and others
  • In esteeming the intelligence and person of the non-believer, even their right to say "no"
  • Church should be a spiritual experience of community in a 21st century post-modern world, based on 1st century examples and documents
  • Integrity (both with self and others) matters
  • Thinking "outside the box" is the only way to think
  • Excellence is worth the price
  • We should set the pace and be ahead of culture
  • Acceptance of ourselves, others, and those who think differently than I is critical to community
  • Devotion to one another is a command, not an option
  • Community is being the church.
  • Our overriding command is to love each other as Jesus loves us.
  • It's not about being right—it's about being Biblical!
  • In letting "it" be what it becomes, rather than forcing our own ideas upon God.
  • Simple living is core to community and self health.
  • The search for the "elusive IT" will kill us, thus we want to embrace each day, each person, each moment for it's own worth.
